Upper Elementary Classroom

Lucas

Lucas is the upper elementary teacher. Lucas began at Community House in 2011 as a paraeducator. He worked as a teacher's assistant for five years before becoming a lead teacher in 2020. His passion is teaching science, but enjoys covering all subjects. Outside of school he is an avid skier and biker, and spends time reading, working on his classic BMW, and with his wife and cat Wilbur.

The upper elementary classroom at Community House serves 5th and 6th graders. We cover language arts, math, social studies and science, as well as social emotional learning. With small classrooms, staff are able to meet students where they are at in their learning, and provide high levels of support. Students also participate in therapeutic recreation, social skills and counseling sessions with our in-house counselor.
